Replacing you cabin and engine air filters may not be as crucial as changing your oil or replacing your brakes, but it is still a bit of maintenance that needs to be completed on your vehicle. Your cabin air filter should be changed every 15,000 and 30,000 miles, while your engine air filter should be replaced about every 30,000 miles.
?Your cabin air filter eliminates the dust, smog, and other pollutants that will inevitably get into your vehicle's cabin, so it needs to be clean, especially if you drive in a particularly dusty environment. Meanwhile your engine's air filter removes pollutants that can move through your engine and reduce its efficiency. A dirt engine air filter can decrease your vehicle's fuel efficiency and even shorten its lifespan. Most repair shops will at least check your filters to make sure that they're clean when you bring your car in for a check-up, but you should never neglect these important components.
